Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Hi guys,

Because the one thing that puts me of from building most open topped vehicle kits is the inability to produce the correct plate thickness in injection moulded plastic. So we had to live with universal carriers, half tracks and scout cars with the armour base of a medium tank depicted. Which IMHO is visually a little akin to building a new generation super kit and putting it on Tamiyas seventies rubber band tracks!
That's why I think this update set to be a good solution.
But having said this, I too think that LR went a little over the top with this one. For example, why not two seperate sets for the engine compartment and the hull proper? (I'm not in engine compartments, as you could guess.) And why not using more from the plastic kit, I can't see the extra value of doing the fuell tanks in metal for example.
That not withstanding, I think I'm gonna buy this one (if it's priced reasonably) and I'm certainly not gonna use all of it (as with almost all PE sets).
So kudos for Lion Roar!

Cheers,
Alex
