Hi Duncan,
I'm not quite sure that Dragons platformwagen would be able to carry Tigers. I was told by the guy in the LHS, (they sell train stuf and armour), that the Dragon 4 axle offering has not the capability to carry these vehicles and that you need the 6 axle platform wagen to do that. The Dragon kit would happily carry a Panther though.
Well, I'm not 100% sure on this topic, as I'm not a train guy and I've seen kits build in the configuration you propose. But perhaps you would better check this out. I understand it has to do with the loading per axle ('rail pressure', that is).
