Hi.
I believe that they are to help change the track as the tank was so heavy.
However someone more knowledgible than i could give further information on this subject.
I did have several photos taken of the Char B1 at Bovington as well as numerous other vehicles last year but as can happen i lost them when my computer crashed recently.
