Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

The original Tamiya kit will have better fit than the pantographed copies from Academy and Trumpeter. Academy offered separate rubber tires on some of their pirated Tamiya kits, but that is basically a gimmick, which does nothing to enhance the kit.
That said, Tamiya's kit, released about 1990, had an all-new turret mated to their 1970 hull, which was very simplified. The Eduard photoetch set will provide nice details like the fender support outriggers, which Tamiya molded as part of the tool boxes, and separate handles for those boxes, which Tamiya molded as bumps.
