Dennis,
Yes, if you leave the dozer blade off, you can build this kit into a suitable late WWII M4A3(105)H w/HVSS. That said, no one has yet found evidence of these tanks in use in the Pacific before the end of WWII, but there are a few pics floating around of such vehicles in use in the ETO before the end of the war.
