Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Thanks for your support on this guys.I have been reading specific compiants about specific kits long enough to notice a trend developing with the instrucitons but hadn't seen what I considered the major points of the trend summarized anywhere. But I don't get out much so I could have missed something. LOL

I am sure that this applies to other manufaturers as well. The points raised about the Bronco instructions are probably valid. I only own one Bronco kit and am reluctant to purchase more because of the price so I am more familiar with the DML situation. But it bears repeating for DML, Bronco and any one else who fits the poor instructions mold. How can you do so much research to manufacture these exquisite kits only to have the instructions not match the research and kit engineering effort?

This leads into the painting instruction situation.DML has hired the msot recognized names in German vehicle research to help them engineer these kits as accurately as possible. And DML proudly advertises the involvement of those individuals to the modelling community. And rightly so. I would do the same thing if I were DML.

Now these same individuals have also been in the forefront of researching the correct interior and exterior paint scheme to be applied to WWII German vehicles. How much a stretch is it to hire the same consultants you are using to get the physical details of your model correct to also advise you on what paint schemes would be most accurate?

Anyway, thanks again for the supportive feedback and here is hoping that the good folks at DML (and other manufacturer's)read this thread and react accordingly.
