| Subject: | DML panther disintegration (kit #7205) | |

This is a new one on me.
I have a 1:72 scale Panther G early (kit #7205). It had a die cast metal hull and plastic add ons. A nice little model with lots of potential. I started on it and set it aside for about 3 months to work on something else. I went back to it today only to find that the die cast metal parts were crumbling. The metal itself looks as though its delaminating and scaling into little flakes of pot metal devastation. All of the metal parts are extremely brittle. I painted it with Tamiya acrylics and had only gotten the base coat down so there was nothing else done to it. The sections of the hull that are still intact are severly warped and you can see the begining of the scaling and spider cracking.
Anyone else encounter something like this? |
