Did some digging today and found out that exactly, AFV did do there home work as usual. Seems in Hunnicutt book they measure out to between 13 and 14 inches on M3's and 16 to 17 inches on M5s at front. Looks like Hunnicutt had it right too. Your explantion make great sence thanks for your help. Karl.
