Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Hi Rob,

I'm ashamed! ;-)

Of course your M3 bogies are great! But they are so hard to find overhere in the Netherlands, and certainly very expensive being imported piece meal only in very small batches. But you're right, quality wise there is nothing wrong with your products, it's just that I'm a little biased to styrene.

Having the Resicast MKV DD in the stash, and a Tasca hull as spare, I made some measurements while contemplating transplanting the DD stuf to the Tasca hull. If Tasca would do one themself it would use up some extra sprues indeed, but not beyond the possible. But again you're right, it will be a much more expensive kit, and certainly not a main stream seller.

Perhaps you'll do a DD conversion for the Tasca kit? It must be much more buildable then the Resicast full resin kit is, if only for the incomplete instruction sheet that that kit has (ordered a new one, and got another misprint!). That aside, the Resicast kit is so daunting, I doubt I will ever start it, to be honest.

A Formations ARV MKI would be a nice conversion too! (Freeing the Tasca Firefly parts up for other projects!)

Anyway, it is good to know that where the styrene guys don't deliver, Formations and others come to the rescue!

Cheers,
Alex
