Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Hi Keith

There are two kits, one from CMK (3039) for about 25$(US) and the other from Accurate Armour (C34) for about 21£(GBP)(~43$(US)).

As Roy Chow mentionned, it's an easy conversion and You could easily do it by Yourself, like the real thing which was made from thin sheet metal.
I have read an article about this conversion in a German modelling journal a couple of years ago, but at the time I read it I'd already gotten the conversion kit. Alas, I can't remember the the issue and what magazine it was exactly.

I got the Accurate Armour conversion, which is of good quality and with excellent dry transfer decals.
The only flaw in my opinion are the assembly instructions, which are made in the typical Accurate Armour manner and leave a lot to be desired, as they are copies of black&white photographies. They are hard to read sometimes and less precise as could be wished.

The base for both conversions ist the Tamiya Panther G (kit no.35170).

The CMK conversion is available in the US as far as I could see.

I hope this is of some help to You.

Kindly Yours

Arun Bauer
