Hi Mike
It depends on which AM set You got. The original Zimmerit set with the small side panels allows You to build the tanks 305003, 305004 and maybe 305005. With the revised set You can build the Tanks 305006, 305007, 305008, 305009 and 305010 wich were coated as high as to the upper row of spare track link retaining hooks.
The tanks 305001, 305012 and most probably 305011 weren't coated with Zimmerit.
There's a special gelly glue for fixing the AM panels on the model. Normally the Zimmerit panels fit properly. If they are too small, You can heat them carefulluy in warm water and strech them to size, but You have to take care, for the panels may brake easily.
As for the tracks, the only choice are the Friulmodel ATL 22 combat tracks (Tiger II/Hunting Tiger) or the ATL 21 transport tracks (Tiger II/Hunting Tiger).
The DML transport track set can't be used, as this version had moulded intermediate links like the Friulmodel ATL 42 track. This kind of track was used for the Henschel Jagdtigers only.
Nor can the ATL 41 tracks be used, as they were't used but on the very first King tigers.
If You've got the cyber hobby Kingtiger initial production version (6349), You can use the kit's tracks for the Jagdtiger. This means a lot of work due to the ejection pin marks on the track links.
These tracks are basically the same as the tracks in the Porsche Jagdtiger kit. The only difference is the guide horn on the inner side of the track link which isn't missing on the Kingtiger track link.
Therefore the only "advantage" on these links is the the additional work of either downsizing or cutting off these guides. This means Your having the choice on two existing options for the inner guide horns.
The same modification has to be made on the Friulmodel combat tracks due to clearance of the Porsche suspension system from the tracks.
I haven't found any pictures yet, but I think the transport tracks had the inner guides sized down as well, as these tracks were kept in service until the end of war for the "Porsches".
I hope this is of some help to Your "Porsche" project.
Kindly Yours
