Before the Formations Chaffee came out, I detailed a kit using the Zaloga article as a guide. Among the detailing items that I used were Friul tracks. The Friul tracks are well detailed, but not handed. One side, therefore, didn't quite look good. Subsequently, a company named Armor Track came out with some Chaffee tracks, both the rubber Chevron and the WWII metal type. They are very nice, plastic, cheaper than Friul, handed, and kind of like Modelkasten. If you can find them, I recommend then over the Friul.
In hindsite, the Zaloga article points out practically all the needed corrections to the Italeri kit. I discovered, by using it, that the Royal Models update set went a long way in accomplishing the corrections. |
