Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Hi Daniel,

Not much available for the M2A1, though some (more expensive) resin kits can be used.

Italerei; M1A1 105mm howitzer (Could do with new wheels from Master and Ed PE).
Italerei; 6 pounder (Old kit, ex Peerles, do not know of any PE/AM for it).
Trakz; 37mm AT gun (Nice kit, not to expensive, allthough obsolete as an AT gun still seen in use at that time)
Resicast; 6 pounder AT gun (Great kit, but much to expensive, want one myself but till now I could not get myself to spend €75,00 on it).

If you build your M2A1 as a Soviet vehicle some more kits are available.

Miniart; 76mm Zis3 field gun (Good kit!)
Miniart; 57mm Zis 2 AT gun (Good kit!)
ICM 100mm BS3 field gun (Reasonable kit, though officially much to heavy for the M2A1, pictures of it being towed excist).

I understand that British units used the M2A1 for hauling 17 (Accurate Armour) and 25 (Tamiya) pounders, though have seen no pics of it yet.

You can of course always get captured equipment behind the HT, up to 75mm PaK 40 would be allright.

Trailers I do not know off, but I guess my fellow modellers will produce an even longer list of (resin) kits that I've forgotten or even never heard off! ;-)

It is time for new generation styrene 6, 17 and 25 pounder kit though! But one can only hope

Cheers,
Alex
