Hi Charlie,
I read the review on PMMS also and I am currently building the kit. There is an additional issue with the 37mm gun swivel, here's a link to ML that outlines the problem:

That said I fix mine using an old swivel from bits of a Tamiya Grant I had. It took a bit of sanding and alteration to get it to fit but cured the problem.
The turret will also need a bit of work as it is quite smooth and the Grant turets were anything but.
I'm doing mine for a group build over on SMW and the pics and my fix are shown there. Some time ago I posted 2 sets of reference pics there from the IWM Lundon and Bovington Tank Museum. If you drop in look under plans and drawings.
One day we will get a tank that doesn't have any issues but then we might loose half the fun of putting it right.
