Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

The original Gunze Sangyo Sturmgeschutz III kits from 1989-90 were rereleased by Dragon, who replaced the rather poor white metal parts with superior plastic items. Dragon recently reissued the Sturmhaubitze version, but the 75 mm gun and saukopf mantlet were still included (though marked "not for use). As mentioned, Dragon licenses Revell Germany to issue its kits in Europe. They also appear in Gunze boxes for the Japanese home market.
The Sturmgeschutz IV kit is available from Dragon in early and late versions (this also employs the Gunze Sanyo Panzer IV chassis parts, which were better than Dragon's own Panzer IV Ausf. J chassis from the early 1990's). Dragon's new Panzer IV hulls are unrelated.
