As roy mentioned, the 105 on an M4A4 is non existent.
As for the old DML kit being passable, it depends on your wishes. It is passable in my opinion as it can be recognised as a Sherman. But, me being a Sherman nut, the lower hull is too long and there are a lot of detail problems. Try this site for more information and some diagrams:

The T49 is technically possible, but I've never seen them on an M4A4. I think it had something to do too with the plants that produced the particular tanks and their suppliers. Certain types of tracks were seen on certain vehicles.
Best option? Pick a photograph and build it after the photo. You really can't go wrong then.
