Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Hi Sean,

Early this morning the contents of my trash can were taken to the municipal dump. I'm afraid it is not possible to reclaim my trash! :-)

I would have happily send it to you, especially with a bottle of Haig promised!

I too have enough 'rubbish' in the stash, but that is not the problem. For these are all old kits, 20, 30 years old, kits from 'obscure' eastern european brands, or small time 'garage' one off resin producers. But here we're talking about a 'brand new' kit from one of the biggest kit producers world wide.

If I buy a mystery box with cyrilic lettering on it I know I there is a fair chance I will regret it. No crying then though, I knew what I was doing, I took the chance, and I lost. But in this case, even with, as I stated before, not to high expectations from 1:35 Revell armour kits, this kit was an affront. Especially if one know they can do so much better, see their new aircraft kits, or even their 1:35 truck kits.

One thing is sure, Revell has lost a customer.

Well, enough ranting from me, it is out of my system now, and out of my house too! Sorry you're to late, I would gladly have taken a good glass of whisky on your account! ;-)

Cheers,
Alex

PS.
Sean, are you quite sure the profile you refere to depict the Kanonenjagdpanzer? There was also a prototype of a Jagdpanzer on the earlier MOWAG HS30 chassis (1958) that is allmost identical to the Kanonenjagdpanzer, albeit smaller overall. That AFV has tracks with a small square teeth in the middle of the track pad. Its development was stopped because the (French) 90 mm gun did not perform well, and a new chassis was developed for the bigger Rhein Metall 90 mm gun. Resulting in the Marder APC and Kanonen- and Raketten-Jagdpanzers.
