Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Noel,
a hard choice, because both kits have advantages and disadvantages.

I guess i would finally go for the Dragon kit. If i wanted to make Michael Rinaldi style turret, get the Trumpeter kit also and swap turrets.

Dragon:
advantage is the Tracks and the side skirts breakdown which is more accurate.
disadvantage: many sink marks on the wheels, multipiece lower hull (pay attention in assembly), missing detail on the inner sideskirts.

Trumpeter:
advantage: crisp molding, lots of nice details and option parts (Infrared), cool turret, one piece lower hull.Inner sideskirt detail.
disadvantage: breakdown of the sideskirts = the frontskirt is too long, the rear one too short in my opinion. Rubberband tracks (there is a resin AM set available by Atelier infinite with optional workable suspension).

I have both kits, that is the easiest choice. The sideskits are hard to correct, youŽd have to make one shorter, one longer and have to change all the hull details on each side.....just leave them of.

choose wisely

Frank
