The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too. |

| Subject: | DML / Tristar Brummbar kits | |

Hello everyone,
I have had a chance to look over both Brumbar kits from both DML and Tristar. I will not go into a review of both since it has been done already. I did however note that the Interior of the Tristar kit is better. The floor and firewall are detailed while the DML kit is not. Given the scale thickness of the Tristar upper hull walls, make one wonder if they plan an interior for the kit. I bet they are. I also still like the separate rubber tire layout. Sure makes painting the wheels much easier. On the flip side I do like the DML side armor skirts better. They will be much better than the Tristar soft plastic version if none other than you can add battle damage. I took both kits to my local club over the weekend and it would seem most of the guys liked the Tristar kit better too. Some did complain about the Zimmerit missing from the DML kit for which I told them real builders make their own. After all if Germans had to add it, so we can too. LOL.
Regardless of what one thinks, both kits are nice. It’s just that one seems to be just a bit better to me. When money is tight with gas and food these days I have to make choices if more than one subject is done by both companies. Give the Mistakes that DML has had in the past with the Panzer IV’s, Pz38(t) and other kits I have to always side on the Tristar range if subjects are duplicated. Tristar just doesn’t seem to rush and make mistakes. Just my 2 cents. Now I’m looking forward to the Marder III ausf M. If it is as good as the flakpanzer 38 then it will be an awesome kit.
