Hi Ian,
I'd say a wholehearted Yes!
Though perhaps you might not want to use the whole Eduard set down to the very last bit of p/e IMHO the buy is certainly worth the money.
What I liked most about the Eduard set for the Italeri DUKW is the mesh floor bit right behind the forward steering cabin.
This is true see-through mesh (... you might want to add some detail underneath even!..) wich improves the solid Italeri part a lot.
Same goes for the many improved details on both the fore- and the aft deck.
Another Highly Recommended if you want to build your improved DUKW into something really beautiful is the resin DUKW set from Blast, France.
Gives you -amongst others- the correct three-legged .50 gun ring in the fwd compt as well as improved resin parts for the rear deck.
Final tip; those fenders from the kit are really awful.
They improve a lot with just one or two layers of bandage gauze with some diluted withe glue wrapped round them.
When not entirely dry yet, pull the gauze apart a bit giving it a very nice worn rope effect!
Can't reach pics of my own DUKW model right now but if you like I'll shoot you some on your direct email by tomorrow, ok?
Bye4Now and Cheers,
Jer |
