Adam,
When I did use future I used it to ease decal application and just applied it
with a brush to the area where the decal wass going to be.
I don't use future anymore, I've found decals can be applied without silvering,
even ti zimmerit using a strong decal solvent such as Mr Softer (from Gunze
Sangyo), this is followed by a coat of matt varnish after decal application.
