Hi,

A method used by aircraft modeller is to paint the model in red primer, or
whatever colour would show underneath the main coat. Then paint the overall
coat and actually chip it with a scalpel, revealing the primary coat
underneath.

I have nothing against chipping per se, but please keep it realistic and in
line with the vehicle you're trying to portray.

An Iraqi T-72 in sand colour with many paint chips is excellent (and documented
in real life).

An overall dark yellow StuG with so many paint ships you'd believe it had been
stoned for months by Palestinian rioters makes me think the modeller is a bit
too susceptible to the current "modelling fads".

Cheers,

Christophe
