Hi Tony,

I use a mix of 80% XF-60 and about 20% flat white, that's for 1/35. For a smaller scale add more white, for a larger
scale a bit less. There were many variations of dark yellow anyway so there is not just one "right colour", I've
read the Tamiya colour is a very good match for one of the more common dark yellows, but it looks too dark on a
scale model, you have to add white for a more "in scale" effect.

If you are not happy with my mix recipee, you can experiment a bit by adding more Tamiya flat white, adding Tamiya
flat buff and Tamiya flat desert yellow to the basic XF--40. You're bound to come up with your own "special secret
mix" that you'll be happy with :-)

You can find a lot of useful information in the book "Wehrmacht Heer Camouflage Colours 1939-1945" by Tomas Chory
but beware, you are opening a can of worms here, I am more puzzled by the question of dark yellow(s) AFTER reading
the book than before reading it ;-)

Cheers,

Christophe
