Wooden tool handles can be painted a light tan colour firstly and then
dry brushed with a darker brown to give a grain effect .
The shovel blades I usually paint a matt grey and then apply a shiny
steel colour with a lead pencil, then a light wash with rustall . I
think all the metal tools were painted the same colour as the vehicle
though , so a scratched and chipped effect may be more appropriate.
