| Subject: | Weathering black.... | |

I realise this may not be the venue for this question (this being an armour site), but I need advice on weathering an all black aircraft. I have built an all black German WWII 1/72 Dornier 217 nightfighter (the old Italeri model). The black color is very monotone and I was wondering the best way to weather it/fade it. I tried drybrushing a lightened black color, but it did not work at all. The panel lines are not recessed, so that makes it harder. Any ideas about a wash, or other ways to weather it? I have heard people talk about spraying a lighter color "cloud" pattern as fading in the center of the panels, but I don't know what that technique involves. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Mike C. |
