I'm still new to modelling/painting and such, and for the LIFE of me I can't figure out an effective way to paint road wheels w/o getting paint where I don't want it (i.e., the "rubber" paint getting onto the "metal" area and vice versa)... Am I missing something? Is it just a matter of "BE MORE CAREFUL", or is there an effective method to it? Do I use airbrush or regular brushes?

Saul's tips are solid, and here's another
Artists' paint markers can help in this area immensely. They have to be
artist quality or close to it otherwise the paint doesn't stick well or
at all. If used a primer type coat on the wheels helps the marker paint
"grip".
