I agree the HP-BCS is a good all around choice. I often use that one for general modelling. Only issue I have, albeit a very minor one, is that I usually have to pull the needle and wipe it down after a session, rather than just flush solvent through it like with other ABs I use.
I'm not sure about that "acrylics only" comment, I do high-volume professional modelling/painting with Iwatas using automotive lacquers, Testors MM oil-based paint, and other braincell killers, and I clean them by flushing them with straight lacquer thinner. In over 10 years time doing this I've had no negative effects, no abnormal part where, nothing... I do take the brushes apart for thorough cleaning occasionally, examine the small rubber(?) o-rings, etc, and they are in fine condition. And these aren't just opinions, they are hard-earned facts resulting from literally hundreds of hours at the spraybooth. :)
Iwatas are available mail-order through Bear Air, and at Pearl Art if you are near one. Bear has all the parts, too. |
