I used a wash for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I painted the model with Tamiya acrylic and then took yellow ochre artist oil and thinned it way out with mineral spirits. Put in on the model and it ran down the grooves. Looks great, just like the dust accumulated on the tank as if it ran down a dusty road. Had no effect on the acrylic. Tried the same thing on a kit with testor model master. I made the mistake of brushing on it and not just touching the model with the brush. Where I brushed, the paint came off.
