Alan, I use a product called "the Masters" brush cleaner. You can use it for
brushes with all types of paint, it cleans your brush (with warm water) and
then once clean you can shape your brush with some clean, clear compound
still on your brush. The brush tends to regain some of its shape this way.

It was purchased at Michael's Craft Store in Toronto and (since it is
manufactured in New Jersey) must be available in the US as well.
