I agree with you on the confusion.
I think that it is basically the same problem experienced with German Dunkelgelb, there are several model paints available and they all look different! If you add to this that nobody is claiming to market the Green 4BO then the situation is even more difficult than for Olive Drab or German Dunkelgelb.
In any case the Green 4BO was the same for all the war, as it was first referenced in early 30es.
The difference you mention may derive from the normal oxidation of all Greens, thus bringing to a light Green 4BO and a dark Green 4BO.
At present I have not yet reached the stage in my research to put forward proposals to solve the problem, I only wish to try order a little better the current situation that in my opinion has gone out of hand.
