Well, the most accurate result would come from a brush. To avoid criticism of your finished model for bad workmanship you should apply them very neat and straight with an Airbrush.

I often find that it isn't the most accurate finish that people like, it's an almost abstract finish that most modellers have been conditioned by competitions, magazines and books into accepting as the correct way to paint.
