Paint seems to hold on the Tamiya rubber tracks w/o problem, so priming is
not a necessity. I usually paint them black, use a wash of Testor's Rust,
then drybrush the pins, guide teeth and wear points with silver. If you've
got a track with large rubber pads, like a lot of modern tend to be, paint
'em same colour as the vehicle, do a rust or mud wash, pick out the rubber
pads with a dark grey.

am considering buying the Modelkasten Tracks for at least one of the tanks.
I also want to try using the vinyl/rubber tracks that come with it, just to
try it out. What is the best technique for painting these tracks. How can I
make them look more realistic? Do i need to prime them at all? Thanks for
the help.
