I have an old Badger airbrush that just will not die. I have painted a
1/35th scale AFV kit, gotten a phone call and ran out the door WITHOUT
cleaning the darn thing. Come back a day later, clean it up, and it works
like a charm. Empirical testimony to how well built the Badger line is.
However, my old reliable friend stinks when it comes to painting very
precise details, it just cannot. So, from time to time, I use the old geezer
to spray single color base coats.

My second brush is an old PASCHE VL series. Paints a much finer line that
the Badger, but cleanup can be no fun. From it I learned the serious spray
control comes from double action airbrushes [at least for me]. This was my
primary airbrush until the arrival of the IWATA HP-A. The VL only comes out
of the box when my nephew uses it

The Iwata series is the best airbrush series I have ever seen. [The Tamiya
Airbrush IS an Iwata]. The detailing is crisp, and totally controllable down
to a very fine level. You can paint figure details with a good Iwata. Try
that with other brushes, not a chance. The next airbrush I get will be a
HIGHER grade IWATA. I would recommend getting the best model you could
afford. You will not be disappointed.

HTH,
