I only use Oil paints when filtering colors. The other method is more of a tinting (90-10). For Greens (ANY Green) it is best to use yellow Ochre, white, black and raw umber or burnt sienna. IMHO these work the best for Greens and Drab.
Don't be discouraged if it starts to look like you 're going to mess up the entire model, relax it will ruen out better than you think.
BE sure to "seal" your base coat with Future or Polly Scale Satin to protect the finish from Thinners.
I work in 1 area at the time, using Spots and thin vertical lines with the oil paint then wipe excess away with a Clean brush or towel (LINT FREE!) then repeat as necessary.
It seems that everyone has a different method for this, this one works for me (And MIG)
Don't be afraid to experiment with other colors as well, this method may change your modelling forever!
