Ed,
Different paints take different ratios of isopropanol (IPA) to water. Some
people advocate using a drop of detergent in the water to prevent the paint
from "clumping". If windshield washer fluid is working for you, why change?
With regard to adding lacquer thinner to the mix - it won't. Mix, that is. Oil
and water, and all that. I wouldn't try it.
