hello Julio.

I never said that I invented something, I say that as far as I know, I was the first one yo use the word FILTER for explain a technic in modelling that is different that a wash.

Long time before...in spain...the word WASH was used for explain a lot of different technics. Everybody was confused and nobody knew exactly what wash means, because it represented a lot of different things.
In a way for try to make a difference between these different technics or ways, I started to apply new names for each method, because it was easy for try to explain to the readers.

In that way, they could understand better wich process follow for to get this or that effect within a easy way.

Try to use new names for modelling technics was a attemp for expand the vocabulary of the modelling.

As you can se here, much people think that a wash is a filter ...but in SPain, much people thought that a wash is a rainmark too.

Jari has explained very, very well the difference (he really has a special hability for this kind of explanation, reding other articles that he has writte)

You must agree with me that use the same word for all technics is not good for the improvement in the modelling. We must be more ACCURATE explaining the technics because other can learn with it.

Long time ago, I writte several articles in 3 important lenguages explaining Filters, Rainmarks, and Washes. If Owen allow me, I would like to add here the link to these articles:

http://www.missing-lynx.com/rare_world/rw04.htm

I have never read something similar from other people (well, now I remeber that in fact, Owen sent me long time ago an article that he prepared talking about a lot of technics and some methods very close to mines), at least a serius article in any magazine or web site.
Of course, if anyone has write or know something about, will be very positive if he can add here the link for share with us. The net is very big, and sure that I don't know all places.

But the last days I am too tired of discursion , so, if you prefer call to any technic glaze or "pepe", or Smith or COCOGUAGUA, I will be very glad to use these term in my next articles, specially if all of you agree.

the ONLY important thing is to try to transmit the knowledge from one to other in the easy way.

About the subject who invented what....the inventor is not the person that discover for first time. The inventor is the person that invented for first time and share with the rest of the people.
Maybe you can discover in your home the cure for AISD or CANCER, but if you keep for your self in your home and the secret dead with you....you never will be the inventor of the cure.

All the best

MIG
