Hi Todd, I use Gunze rust acrylic, but I have to agree with Saul, you have to experiment. I don't think any weatheing colour will come as a complete fix. I have not been able to get the Gunze colour through an airbrush but that's fine. You will be able to create a nice texture by stippling this colour in several coats. The texture is really important when creating the image of rust. Gunze rust is a bit too bright (orange) for things like mufflers, but it's good as a base. I usually give it several whashes with black and brown aquarel colours using some soap on the brush to bring down the surface tension of the water. Some very slight dry brushing using dried powder of Gunzes burnt iron metalizer may further enhance the effect of corroded steel. You may even try mixing some of burnt iron with the rust colour.
Try it out and make tests on scrap parts, i'm sure you will work it to perfection.
