Before you go out and buy a new compressor go to your local hard ware store and get a regulator for a full size air compressor. Just unhook the hose screw in the reg and thread the hose onto the out put of the reg. Drop you air pressure down to about 10-15psi, this, along with thinning your paint should help with fine lines. My reg was about $15.
Might be worth a try.
