Just to give my 2 cents worth. Steve Zaloga uses Tamiya Olive Drab as a base coat then overspays a cloud pattern consisting of Tamiya Olive Drab lightened with Dark Yellow. I have been modelling US armor from WW2 for many years. I have had success with the following procedure. I undercoat the finished model with Floquil Weathered Black laquer as a primer/preshade. I follow this with a mixture of 45% Tamiya Olive Drab, 45% Tamiya Khaki Drab, 10% Tamiya Flat White. I then finish off with a very thin cloud pattern of Tamiya Khaki.
