Wait for the incoming!? Why, we're all asleep! LOL This is a joke, Lynn is a
good friend, and we have both participated in this club conversation....
well, Lynn participated, the rest of us listened! ;-)
Anyway, I think this brings up another question:
Everyone discusses the use of silver like it is quite rational. Wouldn't it
be safe to say that since we are using "scale effect" colors, that there
really isn't a use for silver at any time? Wouldn't a gray work better?
Let's remember that light thing. Silver is a highly reflective color(?) but
when the light scales down (as Lynn beat into our heads ;-), so does the
reflective properties of the silver. Personally, I've found that models that
use silver anywhere tend to draw my eye to that spot. Think about it this
way: when you look at the real vehicle, what portion of what you are looking
at is silver? That is, how obvious is the silver? Now, when you reduce the
size of what you are looking at (ie. scale effect), those parts painted
silver seem to occupy a much larger portion of your viewing area (ie. become
very obvious). Not because they actually do, but because that scale effect
has not been taken into effect.
I don't want to hear this stuff about steel color versus bright steel color.
They all provide too much reflectance, and that (IMHO) is a bad thing.
Remember, gray is good, silver, bad! ;-)
All the best to everyone, Happy new years to all
