You could, but you need to be careful. I would let the base coat dry completely, at least 48 hours before applying the wash. If you are aplying acrylic over acrylic, I would suggest using water with a drop of dishwashing detergent to thin the paint you use for the wash. From experience with acrylic washes, I would opt for using the pin wash method as the general wash technicque may look great while its still wet, but may dry very blotchy. You could experiment first on a scrap model or the underside of the model you are working on first to get the hang of it. Good luck.
