Subject:  Further Wash Problems - Help!List thread.

I have never really been able to sort out my wash problem. I use Winsor&Newton oil thinnd with either turpentine or mineral spirits. Problem is that the wash is always grainy. When I put it on the model it is not uniformly "tinted thinner" but rather clean thinner with dark specs floating in it. I base coat with acrylics (Model Master/Tayima/Gunze) and have tried gloss, flat and semi gloss base coats. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
