| An enamel wash over enamel paint tends to do this. This is because thinners "reactivate" enamel paint, unless it has cured a LONG time (I've seen it said it could take days or even weeks). Also, the gloss coat needs to be acrylic, and needs to be fairly thick, to provide protection, especially in the corners and crevices, as your experience attests. All of this, combined with the non-toxic benefits and general improvement in the quality of the paints, has led me to use acrylics exclusively for all but detail work. I can then wash with enamels or oils (my preference) with impunity. |
