German vehicles were painted 'panzer grey' untill 1942 I think but i might be wrong on the exact date. different sources give different dates. After that all vehicles were painted the common 'dark yellow', which was then, if neccesary, camouflaged in the field according to the local surroundings. As you would as a forrest ambush dapple scheme would not be particulary use full in the ardennes in december 1944. The standard camouflage colors appeared to be green and brown, used as required/available. Use your imaginagion and think as if you are in the field and you have to camouflage your vehicle. Many vehicles were painted with either brushes or rags. Camouflage painting does not always have to be airbrushed with soft, feathered edges. Think about the winter white wash which was often applied by bucket!!!
Happpy camouflaging
