i agree with u. who can tell, that a colour is right or wrong on a modell if he never saw the particular vehicle in real life. there are too many unknown factors: was the afv painted by manufacturer or in the field, what batch of paint was used, did they thin it to stretch....!
And even the guys who used the vehicles do not remember the exact colour...because they where no modellers and they did not care.
Maybe u should check Don Colorīs Homepage. He made a lot of research, talked to veterans and manufacturers and created his own paint line.

And Fred, choose the colour you want. Do you want to use brush or airbrush, is the model for diorama or single display.....
no matter what others say, i guess no one of those nutcounters has the authoroty to tell u what colour is right or wrong. modellers are kinda artists. maybe one likes your work or he doesnīt. maybe he is jealous because he can not make a good model like you. but i would never say your model is painted in the wrong shade if i had not even seen the original.
