Hi Alan;
Your paint is drying too quickly, in fact, the pigment is dry by the time it's hitting the model. this is a problem with Tamiya Acrylics and most acrylics for that matter. You can turn the pressure down on the compressor and that will help, and try thinning the paint with water as well as thinner. Any Acrylic thinner acts as an accelerant for the paint, so the more you add the quicker it dries. Alot of people don't realise this and it only adds to the problem. Water,however, will keep the drying time up. Remember Alcohol evaporates very quickly, which is why it isnt the best to thin with.
Of course you could do what I did and throw the acrylic paints in the bin and yse enamels. Much better.
hope this helps Alan.
Cheers,
Jay |
