I'm looking for the opinions of serious modellers here. I don't want to be rude but this is directed at guys who will post thoughtful comments that will help and is not a debate as to which is better. I'm looking to hear from guys who know what they are talking about. I need logical reasoning as this is a business decision and if I convince David either way and it doesnt sell I will be in serious do-do.
As I have mentioned in a recent posting I have manged to convince David Hannant to release the Caunter scheme colours in the Xtracolor range. Anyone who has worked with Xtracolor before can attest to the fact that it is the best paint on earth. I use it in Aircraft applications as well as Armour. Which brings the question.
What would you guys like to see it in? The Caunter colours will be issued in Matte to start with but as long as you promise not to tell David, I am a bit dissapointed about this. Don't get me wrong, I love the Xtracolor armour colours as they are but I also love the glossy aircraft colours as they need no gloss varnish before decalling and weathering.
David tried gloss before but had a bad response from armour modellers as they preferred matte. Is this still the case? I am going to try to convince David to expand the armour colour range and the more feedback I have the more convincing an arguement I can make for the necessity of expansion. I know alot of you will be Acrylics users and would like to see this in the Xtracrylix range, but honestly I cannot see it happening for a long time. Plus I don't use acrylics and therefore wont be bothering David to do it!
So guys, you know who you are, please let me know. Matte or Gloss?
Cheers,
Jay |
