Probably these products are exactly the same as artists' quality dry pigments or pastels, but are processed differently, with different additives. This should be considered as a warning as many pigments ( particulary mineral pigments) are EXTREMELY toxic in their dry form, even so-called earth pigments, which have high concentrations of manganese and mineral iron. Even something touted as 'non-toxic' can cause severe allergic reactions and should be handled with care. I'd advise against spraying any dry pigments but if you must, use a big spray booth.
