Double actions are not a problem to use and the learning curve is quick. Don't worry about it. There is no advantage to using a single action.
A .2-.3 mm nozzle will shoot fine lines but the trade off is it will take longer to cover large areas when doing base colors, etc. But going to a larger nozzle like a .5 mm will make doing fine lines more difficult. That's why some modellers, myself included, use different airbrushes for different applications. You might want to look at one of the .35 mm Revolution series, it looks like it could be ok for general use. There's a few suitable ones in the Eclipse series also. Visit the Iwata site at http://www.arttalk.com/iwata/index.htm to read more about them. I can recommend Bear Air as having some of the best prices, they're at www.bearair.com.
Good luck. |
