Hey there. I'm new to the painting business (did some modelling from time to time). The majority of the models I built are Gundam models. Now that i want to paint the new ones I have, I want to make something out of it. I'm a brand new beginner so I was thinking of doing brush painting at first and if I like the looks of it, I will go over to airbrushes.

First thing I would like to ask is about the priming. I know to cover the model in white, but will the Tamiya spray can white do?? Tamiya seems to be the most trustworthy paint company in where I live. My local hobby store sells cheap and ugly paint (not to mention expensive) that I don't want to buy. So I get them from a hobby shop a little farther - but they only sell Tamiya. I'm trying not to mix brands for modelling since I'm not sure if one will go easily on to another. Plus im brush painting so I can't airbrush the whole model with white. And burshing prime the model is kind of a mess. So will Tamiya spray cans work for priming?

I've read some postings here and it says something about Tamiya acrylics dry in mid-air when u use airbrush. This wont matter for me right? Since im just applying the paint dead on to the gundam. Correct me if im wrong please

Paint goes on and so forth. Then comes to the varnish. I want to make my Gundam model look like those in the shelves of the store where it gloss like mad. I know Tamiya does not make clear coats. So will any brand do? And what type should I get?

Thanks for all the help and support!
